Roberto Pantè speaks at the “Next Gen AI” conference on Artificial Intelligence and Culture

On May 21, 2025, at the Conference Center of the University of Naples Federico II, our Creative Director Roberto Pantè took part as a speaker in the conference “Next Gen AI: Opportunities and Dark Sides of Artificial Intelligence in the Cultural and Creative World”, promoted by Associazione Civita in collaboration with the University.

The event marked the first stop of the national tour presenting the 15th Civita Report, a publication that explores the impact of Generative Artificial Intelligence on the cultural and creative industries. The report is based on the input of over 4,700 creatives registered with SIAE and a representative sample of young people aged 18 to 34, and was published by Marsilio Editori with the support of IGT, SIAE, and SWG.

In his speech, Pantè highlighted the value of the collaboration between Phantasya Communication and the Department of Humanities, describing it as “not only a project opportunity but a true cultural mission.” After expressing his gratitude to Rector Matteo Lorito, Department Director Andrea Mazzucchi, Professor Francesco Bifulco, and Professor Francesca Marone, he illustrated how Phantasya is integrating Artificial Intelligence into its projects to amplify, make accessible, and bring cultural heritage to life.

“Phantasya has always believed in the union of technology and culture. We demonstrated this through international exhibitions such as Pompeii in Barcelona and Spellbound in Munich, where we created metaverse environments spanning over 400 square meters, also enhancing more than 100 original archaeological artifacts from the MANN.”

Pantè emphasized the role of generative AI in developing immersive experiences that allow visitors to engage in dialogue with historical figures, as in the case of the chatbot and AI-powered avatar currently being developed for the Art in Class app—designed to bring art into classrooms through interactive methods.

Among the most innovative projects mentioned were the virtual museums Parthenope and the Museum of Women, where historically significant female figures are being recreated through AI, with the ability to narrate their lives and engage in real-time conversation with the audience.

“This is not about replacing human storytelling,” Pantè stated, “but about expanding it. Not about creating cold simulations, but about building experiences that spark emotion, understanding, and meaning.”

Participation in the event and collaboration with GRETA, OGEP3 and L’ABCD edutainment confirm Phantasya’s commitment to promoting innovation that is deeply rooted in humanistic knowledge, aiming for a culture that is ever more accessible, inclusive, and engaging.
